The first month of Season 1: Higher Stakes has been a tremendous success! With over 20 development updates in just one month, our team has been working tirelessly to deliver new fixes, features, and more. Let’s take a look at what we’ve accomplished over the past month.
Season 1 Recap
Here's a summary of Spellborne's first month of public access:
10,000,000 battles played since launch
800,000 monsters captured (that's a lot of monsters!)
140,000 users signed up to play Spellborne
But that's not all…
Players are actively engaging with the game daily, with over 9,500 users checking in regularly. Social media buzz is building, with gameplay clips, screenshots, YouTube let's plays, and more being shared.
Development Update
Player VS Player Battles
The development team has been hard at work introducing player vs. player interactions, extending beyond battles to other aspects of the game.
Our team pushed out many features such as Nearby locator, which lets users add players nearby as friends. In the future, this will allow them to challenge nearby players to battles.
Other quality-of-life improvements include friend notifications, which alert players when their friends are online and in-game.
These features lay the groundwork for friendly player-vs.-player battles, offering a sneak peek into tournaments with ELO rankings, monster stats, and more.
Battle System
The battle system underwent significant improvements this past month, resulting in faster battles and a 25% increase in battles played per week.
We've introduced Hidden Side mutations, with the first being Koralith, a mutation within the Skelefish breed family. This feature deepens the integration of mutation trees with player personalities, making even minor player actions have a meaningful impact on their overall game experience.
Additionally, several quality-of-life features were added, such as the Exit Warning, enhancing the overall player experience.
Misc Features
This month, we introduced several key features, including the Delegate Wallet, which allows players to securely delegate their cold wallets to the in-game wallet, ensuring peace of mind with enhanced security.
We also launched our first purchasable bundle, "Copybara Paradise." This limited edition bundle includes a rare skin, valuable items, and store points as rewards.
Additionally, the Day Care interface received significant updates, including new filters, sorting options, and more, improving overall usability.
Community Update
Time to CHIMP: Chimpers Event
We kicked off a collaboration with Chimpers through the in-game event "Time to CHIMP." Players collected the in-game currency "Four Leaf Clover" to play a memory minigame, unlocking limited edition emojis, skateboards, and rare items.
Forgotten World of Runes: Forgotten Runes Event
In partnership with Forgotten Runes, we launched the "Forgotten World of Runes" event. Players gathered "Dragon's Tear" currency, used to make wishes at the event, rewarding them with rare items and exclusive emojis.
Ember Blitz: Play Ember Event
Our collaboration with Play Ember introduced the "Ember Blitz" event. Players collected "Flame" currency to play a 2048 minigame, earning Flame Tokens that could be exchanged for emojis, items, and skateboard skins.
Clues to the Pirate Nation: Pirate Nation Event
We teamed up with Pirate Nation for the "Clues to the Pirate Nation" event. Players collected puzzle pieces by completing tasks from the task board to claim limited edition emojis and items.
