The launch of Prepare the Hunt event, completion of map assets for new locations, new events, new quests, introduction of new features such as guilds and more.

Here's a rundown of what we've been up to at Mon Studios over the past month:

Pre-Season: Prepare the hunt

To pave the way for the much aniticipated launch of Spellborne Season 1, we initiated our Pre-Season event called, Prepare the Hunt.

This special event serves as a prelude to the main game, introducing players to various actiivites and offering a plethora of rewards. The response from the community has been overwhelming, with over 40,000 signups in 3 weeks, and engagement soaring with thousands of social media posts and over 50,000 spins on the Wheel of Fortune.

We recently unveiled new limited-time rewards for week 3 of Prepare the Hunt, and have exciting plans in the pipeline to further engage our players as we approach the game's launch.

Development Update

Battle System

Our art team has been hard at work crafting new monster designs for locations featured in the upcoming Season 2 release, as well as designing monsters for the upcoming "Soul Exchange" event scheduled for the end of Season 1.

This includes conceptualizing new battle locations, incorporating weather elements, creating innovative attacks, and much more!

Soul Exchange is an event that will take place at the end of every season. This will act as a burning mechanism where players can exchange huge amounts of monsters (mostly useless to them, but of high levels) for rare monsters that are only available during certain events or via soul exchange. These monsters are usually designed in collaboration with outside communities to bring new players into the game.

User Interfaces

The team has made adjustments to the release schedule, bringing forward certain features such as Guilds to debut in Season 1, rather than Season 2.

Guilds encompass various sub-features, including Fortunes of War, Guild Chest, Guild Donations, and more!

Fortunes of War, This feature revolves around the concept of trust among guild members. Each day, guild members have the opportunity to claim one card from the Fortunes of War. These cards may contain rare items that hold significance in the game. Upon receiving an item, the guild member is prompted to provide feedback, expressing either satisfaction or disappointment. This feedback informs other guild members of the perceived value of the item, empowering them to make informed decisions when claiming their own cards based on the emotions conveyed by previous recipients.

Guild Donations, This feature allows members of a guild to donate certain in-game items for charity in-order to receive guild tokens and experience for the guild. This relies on the idea of sacrifice where members are willing to give away items for the guild to progress further.

Guild Proposals, allows members of a guild to vote on important decisions related to the guild treasury. The owner of the guild (i.e. owner of the apartment that was used to create the guild) can create such proposals and have members vote on the decisions. The guild treasury may be strategically used to lure in better players, advertise the guild, or help the guild members get better devices to play Spellborne on.

and many more things! Guilds will constantly evolve in Spellborne, with newer feature additions, and experiments, allowing players in the game to work together in meaningful ways.

Overworld

Progressing with our work to update the game world for Season 2, our art team has completed all necessary assets for the upcoming locations. This milestone includes the creation of assets for areas such as Mondo Swamp, Underworld, Broken Bridge, and Hidden Village. These diverse locales promise to offer immersive and engaging experiences for players as they explore the rich tapestry of Spellborne's world.

Community Update

Tatsumeeko Collaboration

On April 10, 2024, we launched an exciting collaboration with Tatsumeeko, transforming our beloved community favorite monster, Woodot, into a unique furniture item for players to enjoy.

All apartment holders had the exclusive opportunity to claim this special item in their game.

We have numerous collaborations in the works, with more exciting partnerships on the horizon. Keep an eye on our social media channels for announcements about upcoming collaborations and exclusive rewards. Additionally, we periodically capture snapshots of apartment holders for special airdrops and rewards, so stay tuned for more surprises!
